Philip Morris launched renewed L&M family on the market.

Renewed family includes five versions, L&M with a full flavor, L&M Lights, L&M Super Lights, L&M One and L&M Menthol Lights. Changes affected everything, there appeared a circle on the pack, inside of which there is a famous logo, and the whole composition id displaced a little upwards. As a whole, the design became more interesting and elegant, but the changes can not be called revolutionary. More revolutionary changes affected cigarettes, the blending has been changed, and the filter became three-layered.
Sales will be the main criterion and measure of success of the novelty, essentially, it was reduction of sales, slow but long, which became the main reason of such a radical renewal of the family. Investments in additional manufactory equipment for the production of the novelty on the factory Philip Morris Izhora estimated at $15 million.
In general, everything goes fine. According to the results of the half year, the increase is 0.2% with the comparison with 2006, total figures are not disclosed by the Philip Morris Company. The growth is not big, but it is important in principle, when industry wide indexes reduce. It is achieved due to considerable increase of sales in premium segment (Marlboro and Parliament families) and slim-versions such brands as Muratti and L&M.
