Artists Blend Cigarettes with Cosmos

November 28, 2006 The Modern City Fund presents the exhibition "Origin of Species" by artists Alexei Kallima and Inna Boguslavskaya. The exhibition is held with the support of the Moscow Museum of Modern Arts. The artists try to combine things that seem to be hardly blending with each other: in their sculpture Soyuz-Apollo worthless things, such as empty cheap cigarettes packets, come to stand for the docking of Soviet and American space ships, the grand event, which the cheap cigarettes name echoes. Another part of the exposition presents a visual story of the evolution and mutation of cheap Marlboro cigarettes. The exhibition runs till December 14 at the address: 6, Volkhonka Str., Moscow.
