July 28, 2014
Smoking in restaurants, pubs, bars and disco clubs of Czech Republic may be prohibited. Such draft law offers not only Minister of Health Svatopluk Nemechek but also deputies of ANO party.
Minister of Health Svatopluk Nemechek has just reminded the government about law that back in 2012 was made by his predecessor Leosh Geger and Deputy Boris Stastny.
According to this draft law smoking should be prohibited in all public caterings, including restaurants in the open air. List of places where cigarettes sale is allowed will also reduce sharply. For law infringement are introduced penalties.
Anti-tobacco draft law will be offered for consideration to Parliament by Ministry of Health in December 2014. If President signs it, ban will come into force in 2016.
Deputies of ANO party offer their own draft law that could come into force already in January 2016.
One of the first countries where smoking in public caterings was wholly prohibited became Ireland. There corresponding law was adopted in 2004. Smoking in restaurants is already prohibited in France, Great Britain, Bulgaria, Spain, Italy, Greece, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Finland, Macedonia, Iceland, Lithuania, and Holland, Norway.
